Upscale Casual / Guest Experience Ambassador / Private Event Lead
Our Servers are literally the ambassadors to all the amazing experiences that are available to our guests when visiting us at The Wine Thief Bistro & Specialty Wines in historic downtown Frankfort, IL. Those experiences include (but are not limited to) indoor dining, taking in the sun on one of our two patios or dining in a heated igloo during the winter months. Our server staff must be comfortable with communicating with guests, other staff and the general public (we are located in a historic downtown district and there are always people looking for information). Is your personality right for who we are? Do you genuinely love people, food and adult focused beverages? Do you have an entrepreneurial spirit? Our servers are the masters of their own financial destiny. Creating strong relationships with our wine club members and making memorable experiences for new guests lead to exceptional tips. Do you love to learn? Working side by side with one of the most talented wine teams in the area will allow you the opportunity to become wine/spirit sauvy. Our server staff are tipped out nightly and are also responsible for handling their own cash bank and using the point of sale system accurately for their sales. Other aspects of employment that our servers experience are the expectation to ensure that all guests have been provided insights into the many unique experiences that The Wine Thief offers to all guests (wine flights, tasting machines, wine club, specials menu, etc). Making sure that each guest's unique needs are met and is having an enjoyable time while at our family owned and operated business. Our ideal candidate will have an eye on continuous improvement and will regularly communicate with the leadership team on what our server team experiences to improve workflow. Ideal candidates must have an engaging personality and enjoy talking with a wide variety of customers. This position is not ideal for someone who is introverted!
Responsibilities:
Greeting guests with a warm and friendly welcome.
Educate guests on our core 3 elements.
Listen to what customers want and guide them in making selections.
Taking drink & food orders in a timely manner (sub 5 minutes for drink orders).
Communicate current menu specials.
Accurately enter orders using our point of sale system.
Pace guest experience to ensure timely arrival of beverages and food.
Communicate with hosts, bartenders, barbacks and other servers to create a smooth service experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $35.00 - $75.00 per hour
