Preschool Teacher

We are looking for an energetic, organized, and passionate PreSchool Teacher who is committed to the education of young children.

You will work closely with the School Director to guide a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of children, families and the communities we serve.

Education and Experience:

· At least 18 years of age (25 if responsible for driving a bus)

· Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Early Childhood).

· Has 1-year minimum experience in specified age group

· Knowledge and understanding of all current State and Local regulations.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provide a positive and nurturing environment for the children.

· Responsible for health and safety of the children – not excessive accidents.

· Consistently keep clean and maintain the classroom areas (including bathrooms).

· Maintains a permanent room arrangement with no running spaces, shelves used as dividers, and materials/supplies at child level.

· Shelves have toys and manipulatives attractively displayed and labeled

· Classroom learning centers/areas/labs enriched with teacher made enrichments, real, and multicultural items.

· Equipment out and children taught to use it properly

· Maintain all required bulletin boards according to the appointed guidelines.

· Provides consistent and constant supervision of all children. Children are never left alone. Know how many children that you are responsible for at all times, ages, and who they are.

· Lesson plans consistently posted, and supply list turned in

· Lesson plans reflect currentcurriculum requirements

· Consistent planning and effective use of transitions

· An organized and structured daily schedule is implemented and followed daily.

· Will frequently lift as in lifting, carrying, walking with, and holding infants and children.

Required to stand up to 90% of the day.
Must be able to stoop, bend, and sit on a child’s level.
Able to physically and mentally interact and react to children on the playground and/or in the classroom and attend to their needs. This includes moderate and vigorous physical activity.

· Complete and submit all records as required, including time sheets, attendance sheets, incident reports and any other required documents.

· Supports all Children’s Lighthouse policies and procedures as stated in orientation manuals, handbooks, and official memos.

· Has energy level to do the job.

· Good role model including attendance, dress code, attitude.

· Does not participate in gossip.

· Team member providing support to other staff.

· Participates in extra-curricular activities of the school.

· Consistently attends teacher training, outside professional development, and obtains training hours as required by local state requirements.

· Mentors and trains the Assistant teacher to teach the curriculum and run the classroom day to day.

The Lead Teacher reports to school management team, Assistant Director, and/or School Director.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour
