Play and Learn, a small, family oriented Preschool Center in Silver Bluff, Miami is seeking an experienced early childhood professional to join our teaching team in a play-based, nature inspired, early care and education program.

Our ideal candidate will be a nature lover, enthusiastic, and passionate teacher who can support young children's play, exploration, inquiry, and creative/critical thinking skills. Candidates should enjoy working in a team-approach, with the belief that children deserve to be with adults that live with integrity, honesty and respect for others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood or related field, Masters Degree preferred.
• Three or more years of experience as a lead teacher working with children in either an indoor or outdoor classroom
• Excellent english communication skills both written and verbal

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience teaching in a child-led learning environment (i.e., Montessori, Reggio, Waldorf)
• Special interest in nature study, marine biology, wildlife, botany, and/or art
• Spanish/English Bilingual
Job responsibilities include:
• Setting and maintaining the physical environment of the classroom.
• Planning and organizing an exciting and dynamic curriculum and working collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
• Model developmentally appropriate practices and set a positive, fun and collaborative tone for the classroom.
• Provide nurturing, sensitive and individualized care to children and create an inviting classroom environment
• Communicate effectively and openly with parents, administration and colleagues and develop mutually supportive relationships.
• Create an effective environment for learning through daily provocations, invitations and intentional presentation of materials.
• Promote opportunities for creative thinking, skill-building, playful experiences, and meaningful relationships.
• Support and model positive discipline.
• Participate in school activities, including professional development, staff meetings and events, social events, special projects, field trips, and class celebrations.

Starting salary for this role is $30,000 - $40,000 depending on experience, and qualifications
