Preschool Assistant Teacher
We are a Christian Preschool looking for that special person to join our amazing staff. General requirements are as follows:
Assist lead teacher in general supervision and management of a class of children between ages 2 and 5. Person selected must have a personal faith in Jesus Christ. Must have 12 or more ECE units required by licensing to supervise children and have previous experience working in a childcare center. Must be warm and friendly, sensitive to the needs and feelings of others, be able to relate well to children, and agree with the school's educational philosophy of play based and hands on learning. Hours will vary and person selected needs to be flexible. Full time position. Must be willing to work as late as 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Assisting in planning and implementing the daily program under the supervision of the classroom lead teacher.
2. Prepare the daily snack for children
3. Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up centers, and preparing materials and supplies as needed.
4. Supervising the classroom as needed
5. Helping with the general housekeeping tasks
6. Assisting the lead teacher in any other appropriate ways
7. Maintaining Professional attitudes and loyalty to the school at all times.
8. Treating the children with dignity and respect
9. Participating in professional organizations that work for the improvement of Early Childhood Education
10. Be hired on a 90 day probationary contract at which time it may be extended to one full school year.
