McDermott Law, LLC, a three attorney Plaintiffs� firm, is seeking a full-time paralegal to join our team. The firm is dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals who have experienced a denied claim for insurance benefits, including long-term and short-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), long-term care, Colorado Public Employees� Retirement Association (PERA), and other insurance policies.

McDermott Law Paralegals must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with good communication skills for empathetic client contact and strong writing abilities. A successful candidate can work independently, multitask and meet deadlines with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

� Handling cases from inception through resolution
� Extensive review and knowledge of each case assigned
� Maintain constant contact with clients and attorneys
� Ordering and organizing of medical records
� Organization and review of insurance company claim files
� Docketing and calendaring
� Scheduling physician phone calls
� Scheduling client evaluations
� Gather and analyze information relevant to the case
� Drafting correspondence to clients and insurance companies
� Filing on Colorado Courts E-Filing and NextGen systems
� Prepare basic pleadings including Initial Disclosures and written discovery

Skills:

Familiarity with litigation and Court Rules in both state and federal court required
Microsoft Office software programs
Adobe Acrobat
Time Keeping
Experience with calendar and document management systems
Clear and concise writing and proofreading
Excellent people skills

Preferences:

The ideal candidate will have either a paralegal certificate or bachelor�s degree and at least two years of professional experience in a law office.

Benefits
Salary Range: $45k - $60k DOE
Health Insurance (50% Employer Paid)
