Live-in/Live-out: Live out. The family is open to providing a generous housing stipend or a nearby apartment for the perfect candidate!

Household dynamic:
This Washington D.C.-based family of four is excited to work with a family assistant/nanny who can help care for their children and manage their busy life and household. At 8 years old, their oldest daughter is in third grade and loves sports, including skiing, soccer, and tennis. She also enjoys music, theater, and playing piano, and is eager to learn the flute. Their youngest daughter is 5 years old and in kindergarten. She loves art, ballet, cooking, skiing, and tennis. Their family is rounded out by their 10-year-old labradoodle who loves to cuddle. The parents describe the children as kind and engaged kids who love spending time with each other and friends from school. During the week they are on the go with after-school activities and sports. When they’re home, they are learning good routines to manage their homework and activities. They are always up for creative play, crafts, art, adventures, and new activities!
This family has had the pleasure of working with a long-term nanny who has supported them for 5 years and hopes to find another candidate who’s eager for longevity and excited to build a warm, communicative working relationship. Both parents are full-time professionals working in and out of the home, so someone who is collaborative and comfortable tag-teaming with parents will be key. The family looks forward to traveling during typical school breaks and will appreciate some flexibility and willingness to support them on trips. They recently spent time in Paris, Italy, and Maine!

Ideal candidate:
This position is ideal for someone who is a self-starter, approaches their role as a partnership with the parents, and is eager to provide holistic household and childcare support! Someone who is organized, task-oriented, and brings warm, loving energy to the home will excel in this role. The family is excited to work with a candidate who is kind, intellectually minded, and has a great sense of humor! The ideal candidate will be excited to join the family in Maine for 4-6 weeks each summer!
Responsibilities include creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children to grow and thrive. While the children are in school, responsibilities include family assisting duties such as calendar coordination, managing and scheduling the children’s activities, transportation logistics of getting the children to their activities, scheduling vacations, running errands, light pet care, and child-related organizing and meal preparation. A candidate who possesses a strong family assisting skill set and is open to simple, full family meal prep one or two nights a week will thrive in this role for years to come! Childcare responsibilities include driving the children to and from activities, providing homework assistance, and being a loving and confident role model.
While not a requirement for this role, the family would love to work with a candidate who possesses a bachelor’s degree or who speaks French or Spanish!

Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
Family assisting experience
Valid driver’s license
Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to starting date in accordance with applicable laws
Experience traveling with families and children
Dog friendly! Willing to support light pet care
