Millwright / Maintenance Mechanic
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7a.m. to 3:30 p.m. May require to work long hours during a break down.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Millwright position candidates are skilled tradesman or individuals with extensive mechanical abilities who install, dismantle, maintain, repair, reassemble, and move machinery in our Niles Ohio manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions

Strong problem solving, communication, and self-reliant skills
Perform maintenance on various types of production equipment (machine repair, electrical, mechanical, welding and fabrication)
Responsible for reducing maintenance costs and improving maintenance activities, effectiveness, and efficiencies
Proficient in diagnosing and performing mechanical troubleshooting (power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.)
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Constructs, assembles, and installs machines and equipment using a variety of hand and power tools.
Serve as a resource and support in a production environment
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum efficiency.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
Performs necessary preventative maintenance on equipment per PM schedule.
Collaborates with other departments to complete task in a timely and efficient manner.
Completes maintenance related paperwork and record keeping as required

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
Limited travel may occasionally be required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience as a millwright/maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity of OSHA 29 1910 standards for general industry
Preferred Education and Experience
Technical training, associate’s degree, or military equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment
5+ years of related experience in production machines in a metal stamping environment.
