Mental Health Therapeutic Camp Counselor
We are seeking a Mental Health Therapeutic Camp Counselor - MA/BA AMFT, ASW to join our team!
2 locations Irvine and Yorba Linda
SFCC Camp counselors work in a hands-on, fully immersive setting with children/teens. The summer program revolves around outdoor activities that are clinical in nature. Counselors may be called upon to teach and lead activities, identify and show others how to recognize negative/ineffective behaviors and replace them with positive ones. SFCC offers training programs that combine training with on-the-job experience. These programs allow prospective camp counselors to learn to work with and lead children, plan events, and learn about child development. Learn how to implement treatment plans, in addition to verbal or cognitive, Socialization, Stress reduction, and self-soothing skills. Work with modalities like: Behavior Modification, Token Economy, Modeling+Rehearsal Training, Individual Behavior Therapy, Psychiatric Consultation+ Therapy, Social and Emotional Skill Training, ABA, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness.

Responsibilities:
Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues
Offer assistance to individuals with substance abuse issues
Provide prevention-oriented therapy
Implement and review treatment plans
Collaborate with additional treatment providers and placement agencies
Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner
Qualifications:
Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields
Familiarity with community mental health resources
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to build rapport with clients
Strong leadership qualities
