Mechanic
Full-service professional custom & restoration shop located in Opelika AL (off Hwy 169) is hiring a professional experienced mechanic that can perform general maintenance (mainly on trucks & Jeeps) and custom accessory installs (lift & leveling kits, bumpers, lighting/12V (a major plus), wheels & tires, etc.). WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PROFESSIONAL WHO WANTS TO HELP US GROW AND BE A PART OF THE BEST CUSTOM SHOPS IN THE SOUTHEAST! We have fun, only work Mon-Fri, family is always first, and we try our best to exceed our customers expectations every day! Will guarantee that it will be the best family oriented job 100% focused on making you, your family, and the shop second to none.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with customers/shop expectations
* Have the ability to diagnose through test drives, testing components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
* Repairing mainly trucks, Jeeps, and SUV's (we specialize in off-road vehicles) that will include minor to mid-level engine repair, minor transmission, 12-volt electrical systems/lighting, front & rear suspension, brakes, etc.
* Communicate directly with the owner and other mechanics effectively and efficiently. The better communicator, the brighter your future.
* MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TOOLS - no exception and keep your area clean and organized.
* Executing duties, repairs, and accessory installs under warranty to manufacturer specifications & instructions.
* Mechanics are responsible for taking initiative, being innovative, efficient, and do consistent quality work. We want to be the best and all of these attributes are necessary to go there.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must be at least 20 years old and possess a HS diploma or mechanic certification(s)
MUST be a positive person that wants to exceed expectations - period. If not, please don't apply!
* ASE certifications is a plus
* Novice techs encouraged to apply. Depending on your background and outlook, we will be willing to train you.
* Strong automotive/mechanical background
* Strong teamwork skills - you've got to be able to work with others and lead!
* Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
* Clean & valid driver's license is a plus
* Must be ambitious, hardworking and have a POSITIVE presence
* Possess basic customer service skills
* Possess basic computer skills
* Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
* Willingness to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check
Start: ASAP
Pay: $17 to $21/hour depending on experience/background.
