Here at Community Access Services in Oregon City, OR we are looking to hire Full-time flexible Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a unique group home that's fun and a happy environment. Did we mention that this location is a favorite among CAS employees! Our residents are so great they're impossible not to love and build great bonds with. This group home serves five young adults in a unique setting with two LPNs and two direct support professionals (DSPs) on shift most of the time. WOW, this means there are typically four staff members available for five residents. This is a great opportunity for all including candidates with hospital background. This nursing position earns a competitive wage of $30.25 - $31.25/hour. Shift differentials are offered for those with RN certification working in an LPN role. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you play a vital role in our nonprofit organization. Without you, we would not be able to fulfill our purpose! You provide skilled nursing care for medically fragile individuals with developmental disabilities living in a residential setting. You assist individuals with disabilities to meet their personal needs, which include preparing meals, administering medications, assisting with hygiene, and lifting clients in and out of wheelchairs. Collaborating with the RN Medical Supervisor, you assist in providing emergency care when needed.

Each day, you check the patients' status and read the communication log. You review medical progress notes and other documentation to assess the daily needs of those we serve. You also carefully and accurately complete documentation of your own. Your warm and friendly demeanor makes it easy for you to provide excellent service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues.

As you encourage leisure activities and promote new experiences, you ensure that socialization needs are being met. You take pride in the difference you make in the lives of our residents and that makes you perfect for this nursing position!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

LPN or RN license in good standing in the state of Oregon
Knowledge about tube feeding, care of J & G tubes, nebulizer treatments, IV maintenance, and familiarity with various pumps
Reliable transportation
Desire to work with individuals with disabilities
Having current CPR / first aid certification and the ability to acquire IV certification within 3 months of hire is preferred. A valid driver's license and the willingness to become a company driver would be a plus.
