Catherine Kwong Design is an established interior design firm specializing in high-end residential and select boutique commercial projects with a focus on modern architecture and custom detailing. We are seeking a Design Assistant who is interested in excelling as a key member of our team while developing personally and professionally. As the Design Assistant, you will work closely with the Principal and design team to assist with various design and administrative tasks related to all phases of high end interior design from initial planning through to project completion.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate on projects from design concept through complete installation
Office administration including phones, mail, deliveries, supplies and errands
Communicate professionally and clearly with clients, reps, vendors and installers
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation and track tasks
Track samples, material reserves and organize materials library
Shop for and return samples to the Design Center
Build vendor relationships
Assist with sourcing, pricing, availability and specification of furnishings, lighting, textiles, and accessories
Assist with producing presentation materials and proposals
Create and maintain project budgets
Compile finish schedules
Assist with production of interior architectural construction documents, elevations and furniture plans using AutoCAD
Work with Project Manager on deliveries and installations
Assist with marketing projects, inventory sales and management
Maintain daily detailed and accurate time billing


Requirements
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
Minimum 1-2 years experience as a design assistant or design intern level role
Passionate about design and developed understanding of the design process
Developed technical and creative skills
Positive attitude with enthusiasm for growth demonstrated by thorough attention to details
Effectively learns and applies company standards and procedures
Highly productive and organized multi-tasker with consistent accuracy and resourcefulness
Consistent follow-up communication with team on all given tasks
Ability to work efficiently, both independently and as a team
Demonstrates thoughtful, articulate verbal and written communication skills
Mature and professional in manner and appearance
Experience in the creation of detailed proposals, digital client presentations and finish schedules
Developed computer rendering skills – Experience in AutoCAD
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
Must have a reliable car with a valid drivers license
Knowledge of vendors, resources, SF showrooms and antiques a plus
