The Fifth Avenue Association (FAA) is seeking a seeking a highly motivated Graphic & Media Designer with strong graphic design and video editing skills to help us shape and tell the story of Fifth Avenue. Candidates should have a strong interest in and knowledge of design trends and topics and be able to maintain and build a brand identity that celebrates the distinctive cultural and historical assets of the district.

The Fifth Avenue Association works to ensure Fifth Avenue is the most iconic street in the world. Since 1907, it has been instrumental in making Fifth Avenue a dynamic space of beauty and luxury where all are welcome to discover the best that commerce and culture offer. FAA�s marketing team manages the creative and messaging for large scale events including Holidays on Fifth and New York Fashion Week on Fifth. The team manages Fifth Avenue�s website and social media handles that promote the district, its businesses, and all major happenings.

The ideal candidate will have original ideas, be open to learning more, create impressive designs, and have a keen eye for detail. This role will support the design and creative functions for the Fifth Avenue Association in all marketing and communication channels. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a good handle on the latest design trends and responsive web & mobile best practices.

The Graphic & Media Designer works with the entire marketing team to achieve these goals.

FAA is seeking an individual with the following attributes:
An intuitive understanding of fashion and luxury trends. The ability to give creative direction for the company within the brand guidelines.
An excellent copywriter.
A deep understanding and appreciation of the Fifth Avenue brand identity. The brand image, voice, and overall strategic goals must resonate in all creative materials. Must have knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web.

The sense to prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions.
Graphic design skills: assist the marketing department with creative graphic design projects within our brand guidelines. Graphic design projects could include social media creative, website postings, banner ads, brochures, signage, event invites, email designs, office stationery and other related marketing collateral.

A great multi-tasker who has a mastery of programs: Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software.

Ability to create short animations for website and social media platforms
Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred.
A keen understanding of processes and timelines. The ability to design various materials for print and digital collateral.
Experience working with a wide range of media and use graphic design software.
Manage printing/mailing vendors, occasional oversight of consulting graphic design firm
Coordinate the inventory of all graphical work and Alliance photography/video for easy retrieval and backup.
Well organized, personable and a good colleague.

Qualifications/Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills.
BA/BFA in Graphic Design, or another design related field that can include video content design
2-5 years of experience in web or print graphic design, either in an agency, in-house or freelance
Must have mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects)
Video editing capabilities to help create short form and long form video content
Knowledge of printing and experience working directly with a printer is required
Ability to collaborate with other staff and take directions from various people; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong conceptual planning, creative design, and typography skills and the ability to follow art direction and collaborate on layouts
Must have exceptional organizational and time management skills, including handing multiple projects simultaneously and ability to shift priorities and work will under pressure; meeting tight deadlines; and reacting quickly and smoothly to changes.
Photography, PowerPoint, copywriting, video editing, and GIF creation experience
