Position Information: Salary range: $21.00 to 29.00
Hours: up to 40

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director or Program Manager, the Employment Support Specialist assists adult clients in obtaining and maintaining living wage employment and/or community access. The ESS also works with high school students through Work Based Learning and PreETS programs. The ESS will assist in all phases of job preparation including job readiness, technology need identification and procurement, job development and retention/job coaching. Documentation of progress and maintaining written and electronic documentation is essential. Maintaining relationships with businesses that hire clientele is essential. The job duties listed below are representative of the position and not intended to limit the scope of work.

1. Meet with the Program Manager to coordinate time and date to meet with clientele to begin the process of delivering services.
2. Establish meeting times and schedules to move clientele forward in their training and job seeking or retention activities.
3. Meet with the TEC team to review technology needs and procurement processes.
4. Conduct occupation-specific job searches. Meet employers as needed. Evaluate training and technology needs. Submit recommendations to the team for review and, if necessary, procurement.
5. Seek out employer sites for Community Based Assessments, Community Access, Work Based Learning and/or other training services.
6. Work with clientele at training sites. Observe and report progress that is in line with the contract.
7. Provide employer support through education, coaching and feedback. Negotiate accommodation(s) as needed, per the Americans with Disabilities Act.
8. Coach and train clientele in job duties and assignments as needed. Train both the clientele and employers in the use of technology used in the workplace, if needed.
9. Evaluate coaching needs periodically to determine timelines for fading.
10. Photograph, with written permission, clients and employers in their workplace. Submit photos at least monthly for use on our website and for promotional purposes.
11. Submit monthly reports regarding enrollments, technology usage, and employment progress.
12. Submit billing monthly.
13. Submit travel expenses weekly.
14. Other related job duties as assigned.


Work Conditions:

Education:

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Preferred: A minimum of three years of directly related experience, a Human Services Specialist certification is desired.

Preferred: a bachelor’s degree with at least one year of related experience.
