Scully is seeking a candidate to work as a technician in our electrical engineering laboratory. This candidate will report to the manager of compliance & sustaining engineering.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform measurements on electrical circuits using power supplies, oscilloscopes, meters, and other appropriate test equipment

Assemble prototype electrical and mechanical assemblies for test using hand tools

Conduct scripted qualification and validation testing on products and assemblies

Collaborate with the engineering team to identify, define, troubleshoot, and solve electrical circuit problems

Record data and create reports as directed to document testing activities

Maintain lab parts inventory, test configurations, and ensure all test equipment is calibrated and in working order

Maintain lab cleanliness and organize testing activities

Job Requirements:

Technical degree/certificate in electronics or an electrical engineering program

Minimum of 5 years of Electrical Engineering Lab experience.

Experience assembling and testing through-hole and surface mount circuit boards and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Experience reworking and modifying electronic assemblies for prototype and new product development.

Experience and proficiency with all common electrical laboratory test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and similar devices.

Experience and educational background to debug digital and analog electrical circuits based on schematics and component data sheets as references.

Ability to use common MS office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work comfortably with normal hand tool such as pliers, wire strippers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.

Knowledge and experience with basic electrical safety practices including recognizing hazardous voltages, guarding, interlocks and using electrical safety gloves where needed.

Knowledge of standard ESD safety practices for component handling and assembly.

Preferred skills:

Designing simple to moderate complexity electrical circuits

Writing firmware and programming embedded microcontrollers

Experience with regulatory and product certification testing to agency standards (Mil Std 810, IEC EMC, IPxx)

Formal IPC 610 training or equivalent
