Park Place Daycare seeks an Education Director to provide oversight of the Pre-K for All (PKFA)/ 3K For All program within the daycare full-time. The director is in charge of all tours, enrollments, answering emails and phone calls in a timely manner, and registrations for children and families through all the necessary avenues required by NY state.

Core Competencies:

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with the NYC Department of Education PKFA/3K policies and procedures
Knowledge and understanding of New York State Early Childhood Learning Standards and NYC
Understanding of the developmental, cultural and linguistic diversity that is part of the richness of the NYC early childhood profile
High expectations for instruction and social emotional support of students
Knowledgeable of research-based best practices
Experience with rating expectations of ECERS and CLASS
Core Roles and Responsibilities:

Ensures compliance with the NYC PKFA/3K Policy and Procedures
Works collaboratively with the Office of Early Childhood to ensure high quality implementation of the NYC DOE Units of Instruction throughout the program
Assesses instructional needs, and ensures PKFA/3K procedures/protocols are followed
Trains and coaches teaching staff to meet program standards
Leads common planning sessions
Creates and monitors daily classroom and site schedules
Reviews weekly lesson plans
Ensures the implementation of Positive Behavior Guidance, as per PFKA/3K guidelines
Models and fosters positive family engagement; develops plan for all families to extend the child's learning at home
Uses ECERS and CLASS evaluations to plan for and implement ongoing program support
Supervises staff in terms of meeting NYC DOE Early Childhood Framework for Quality as well as ADNY expectations for providing a program that meets the varied needs of the children and family they serve.
Works with school Principal to evaluate staff performance
Uses student assessment data to work with staff to meet the needs of all students
Manages or assists in timely completion of all paperwork relating to PKFA/3K
Qualifications:

Bachelors in Early Childhood or Early Childhood Special Education is REQUIRED.
Masters of Education in Early Childhood, or Early Childhood Special Education is preferred.
Current New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood is REQUIRED.
At least 2 years of experience as a teacher with classroom experience including 1 year of experience as a Lead Teacher in an Early Childhood classroom
Experience working successfully in an inclusive and diverse work environment
Proficient in the use of technology (social media, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, ability to learn various educational communication platforms)
First Aid and CPR certification preferred
Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination
