Chatham County Government has new full-time opportunities for experienced aquatic personnel with knowledge of lifeguard training, swim instruction, pool maintenance, supervising team members, and exceptional customer service skills. Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Aquatic Center Management Staff, you will assist with, supervise, monitor, and train lifeguards/swim instructors and be responsible for emergency response. You will test, monitor, and log the pool water quality daily. You will need excellent customer service skills as you communicate with coaches, officials, contract workers, rental groups, and coworkers. You will open and close the facility as directed and be responsible for other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of lifeguarding or swim instructor experience. Must be certified or have the ability to obtain certification within three (3) months in First Aid, CPR, and Star Guard or American Red Cross Lifeguard and Swim Instructor training. Knowledge of pool maintenance, including water chemical and temperature levels is a plus.
