EARLY LEARNING DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

BENEFITS

Medical & Dental Insurance qualifications is based on 1,000.00 working hours for 12 months
Sick, Personal, Vacation, Holiday, and Tuition Discounts qualifications is based on working hours of 1,000 per year is part-time (4-5 hour days) and 1,440 � 1,500 per year is full-time (6-8 hour days). Benefits will be awarded according to your scheduled hours.
Working hours will be reviewed on a quarterly basis (December, March, and June) and benefits will be adjusted accordingly.
SCS work week is defined as Monday � Friday, unless approved by supervisor.
Overtime is strongly discouraged. When you have overtime, an explanation of why you are in overtime needs to be emailed to you supervisor for approval. Once approved, this email needs to be forwarded to HR Coordinator.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION FOR EARLY LEARNING

Be a spokesperson for and help to implement the philosophy, policies and procedures of Shoreline Christian School as outlined in relevant documents.
Encourage and model a team spirit; demonstrate the love of Christ.
Is flexible and willing to assist as needed by the director.
Is involved and creates learning experiences during all times of the day, deals calmly with stressful situations, and models respect and a love of Christ to children and coworkers.
Knows and maintains the proper teacher-to-student ratio, fills out incident reports as needed, prepares snack, and/or warming lunches according to WA state requirements, and follows all state and federal requirements for a licensed childcare setting.
Supervises and keeps track of attendance through Brightwheel app during classroom activities, nap time, outside time, snack, and restroom time.
Helps with housekeeping tasks: sweeping, cleaning and sanitizing tables, toys, nap mats, and other surfaces, gathering and doing laundry weekly, and cleaning up accidents.
Keeps the administration adequately informed of deficiencies and potential problem areas as well as concerns/needs in the classroom.
Recognizes and addresses conditions which may lead to disciplinary problems.
Establishes clear parameters for student conduct and makes those expectations known.
Responds appropriately with love and prayer to disciplinary problems when they do occur.
Resolves discipline problems in accordance with state and federal laws, and with our scriptural based policy.
Assists students toward self-discipline and acceptable standards of student behavior. Discusses recurrent problems and disciplinary actions with teachers, parents, and director.
Participate in the yearly open house as well as other PR events.
Attend quarterly all-staff meetings, recommended training and professional development requirements.
Cooperates with the administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.

Assess the program, then design a comprehensive strategy for the early learning program within the first year.
Develop strategies with admissions and administrative team to improve retention from preschool to kindergarten.
Oversee entire Early Learning and Extended Care program.
Oversee and collaborate with staff to meet program outcomes and learning targets.
Exhibit excellent organization and communication with all constituencies (students, staff, and parents) including daily, weekly and monthly communications.
Meet all licensing requirements and seek high Early Achievers scores.
Serve as a member of the administrative/director team, safety committee and other taskforce teams as assigned.
Foster a culture of creativity and innovation aimed at improving learning and revenue.
Plan and implement the daily schedule, curriculum, weekly lesson plans and themes with assistance of teachers.
Facilitate quarterly all-staff meetings as well as in-service training.
Document student learning and progress through collecting work samples and behavioral notes.
Assist teachers in planning and setting up learning centers, and preparing/restocking/purchasing art and snack supplies within the assigned budget.
Observe and evaluation of staff on a monthly basis.
Schedule daily staffing including substitute teachers for sickness, vacation or personal days.
Teaching, subbing as needed.

Qualifications

We�re open to a variety of professional backgrounds. As a state licensed facility, minimum requirements include:

Have written proof of early childhood education from either:
a) A current Child Development Associate certificate (CDA), or
b) Minimum of 45 college quarter credits in early childhood education
Be at least 18 years of age
Have at least two years of experience working with preschoolers and 6 months of administrative/management experience
Meet requirements and be listed in the state training and registry system (STARS)
If hired, all other state licensing requirements also apply

Experience in Christian education and a degree specifically in early learning are highly desirable. As a community with a shared statement of faith, an active, intentional, and embodied Christian faith is essential.
