Position Responsibilities:

1. Responds to the referral source crisis call by telephone within 15 minutes and is onsite to provide direct services within one hour.

2. Provides crisis intervention services that include brief assessment, solution-focused counseling, and linkage with needed resources in consultation with crisis supervisor. Develops crisis plans with client/families and trains them in how to access needed services.

3. Initiates services for long term clients within 24-48 hours of referral assignment. Renders services that are client and family centered, culturally sensitive, community based, trauma responsive, and multi-systemic.

4. Ensures that authorizations, consents for treatment and releases of information are obtained as required.

5. Obtains collateral information and documents to determine services and to develop treatment interventions. Initiates mental health assessments and makes tentative recommendations for diagnosis and treatment. Makes diagnosis using the DSM 5.

6. Develops treatment plans in collaboration with client/family and other service providers within timelines. Sets realistic, short and long term goals that are concrete, behaviorally focused and participant-centered.

7. Provides therapy using individual, family, or group modalities. Provides skill-building interventions to assist clients to increase their level of functioning at home and in the community.

8. Consults regularly with other providers and family members/social support system (if indicated) to monitor clients’ progress in therapy.

9. Attends and actively participates in staffings, psychiatric appointments, meetings with schools and/or families, and other activities to ensure access to needed services and the protection of their rights.

10. Notifies crisis supervisor of incidents in a timely manner. Develops action plan. Submits Incident Report to supervisor within 24 hours of occurrence using agency protocol and guidelines.

11. Meets programmatic expectations in regards to service documentation, progress reports and billing. Provides a minimum of 20-24 hours per week of direct face-to-face contact with participants/families.

12. Engages in peer jury duties if/when assigned.
