Child Assistant
Compensation: $16/hr

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Candidates will be providing support to an on-site childcare program by assisting staff with child care to help establish guidance in intellectual, emotional and social growth.
Responsibilities:
• Provides safe, friendly and educational environment for children whole their parents attend on-and off-site appointments
• Supervises and nurtures children while they are in the program.
• Utilizes appropriate materials and activities for children’s development and growth
• Prepares children’s meals and maintains meal courts
• Trains and coaches children toward independence
• Consults with parents regarding their children’s day-to-day progress and behavior
• Observes and communicates children’s progress an behaviors to supervisor
• Maintains records of children’s childcare, respite care and drop-in attendance
• Enters data for children’s attendance and services computerized in Service Tracking System
• Maintains inventory of program materials and supplies, orders supplies as needed
• Perform any other department or agency related duties or special projects as directed
• Works in collaboration with the House clinical team
• Collaborate with agency children’s staff
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma and Associates Degree
• Minimum of three years’ experience in childcare or related setting
• Must be collaborative, passionate, and creative and support diversity and inclusion efforts
• Must be reliable, a driven worker and with a high energy level
