A Savory Roots Event Manager is responsible for many operational aspects of the business. We look for candidates
with strong, proven leadership, a pro-active spirit and a passion for customer service. Candidates should be
independent, entrepreneurial problem-solvers with experience and/or education that is reflective of dynamic
hospitality leadership.

responsibilities.
Job Description
To sell, plan and execute catered events to include menu planning, event logistics, event details, internal and
external communications and time lines. Responsible for administrative duties as well as relating to customers and
clients on a personal basis. Events range from small to large, including weddings, corporate events, conferences,
life celebrations, outdoor events, deliveries and drop offs.
� First line of client contact and follow through, follow through with clients within 48hrs
� Menu selection and specs appropriate to each event
� Conduct phone meetings, on and off site meetings with clients
� Write equipment checklists appropriated to each event
� Conduct client tastings at our location and/or off site
� Stay consistent with company policies on payments, pricing and contract matters
� Client deposits, payment and follow up
� Design events that flow logistically
� Collaborate with staffing manager on staffing needs
� Attend events when appropriate to provide support, training and oversight to team members

� Work closely with owner to develop a sales plan as well as monthly, quarterly and yearly sales goals
� Strategize with owner to identify opportunities and develop and implement new strategies to maximize
sales and profitability
� Proactively research new business opportunities and work closely with the owner and operations director
to prospect, solicit and acquire new business relationships to increase revenue
� Create and distribute weekly sales reports
� Remain current of national trends in the industry, local market changes and competition and develop
sales strategies to remain competitive and innovative in target markets
� Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners
for maximum exposure
� Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and outside vendors
� Attend weekly catering meetings, staff meetings and monthly sales meetings
� Attend all other meetings as required (financial focus, marketing, all staff)
� Contribute to printed catering menus and collateral
� Participate in off-site promotional efforts (trade shows, etc.)
� Work with venues and vendors to build relationships
� Communicate and collaborate with internal departments to ensure successful well-orchestrated events
� Stay connected to industry partners and attend industry events
� Join trade associations and attend monthly meetings
