Job Description
Come spend your summer in the Lakes Region of Maine on our beautiful 365-acre camp located on Pleasant
Lake. We are a traditional summer camp serving 160 girls, aged 7-17. Arcadia is a place where girls come to
develop independence, grow comfortable in the out-of-doors and to develop into confident young women.
Positions begin in early June 2019 and run through mid to end of August 2019. Female staff typically live in a
lodge with campers and teach an activity, Male staff live with other staff members, teach an activity and have
other responsibilities around camp. Staff should have completed at least one year of college. We are looking
for someone to teach the following skills:
fire making
safe use of axe
safe use of knife
set up tents
set up traps
read maps and understand different type of maps
cook outdoors
orienteering
knot typing
identify hard vs soft wood
identity types of trees and plants
