Troy Township has Immediate Opening
for a Full-Time Building Maintenance Coordinator
The Troy Township Supervisor’s Department is seeking a candidate to fill an open full-time Building Maintenance Coordinator position. The primary duty of this position is to coordinate and execute the general maintenance of the township office building and grounds, ensuring a positive, accessible, and clean environment for officials, staff and public.
Work Hours: 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday; some evenings and weekends are required but are scheduled in advance.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform custodial & maintenance work including but not limited to:
o Inspect and maintain custodial equipment for proper operating condition.
o Keep all maintenance equipment clean and in proper working order. Make sure grass clippings are cleaned from mowers, edgers, etc. before storing in garage.
o Maintain OSHA SDS Binder and Hazard Assessment Reports.
o Keep garage clean, neat, and organized. Power wash and clean floor as needed.
o Evaluate status of facilities and perform or schedule needed repairs. Coordinate service contracts, schedule regular maintenance visits per the service contact and coordinate emergency service work as needed. Perform minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC troubleshooting.
o Ensure any scheduled service work is performed in accordance with township bidding and prevailing wage requirements.
o Keep records of work completed.
o Keep all sidewalks clear of leaves, debris & snow.
o Keep parking lot clear of all debris including weeds, grass clippings, etc.
o Clean, power wash, etc. sidewalks, patios, patio furniture, building and windows as needed.
o Cut grass and pull weeds in areas surrounding the township facilities. Keep all planting beds free of weeds. Keep sidewalks, street, and parking lot free and clear of all grass clippings and weeds.
o Trim all trees, bushes, shrubs, and plantings as needed.
o Assist office staff in the organization of storage closets.
o Clean and sanitize durable medical equipment as needed.
• Keep the Township vehicle in clean condition. Wash outside, clean inside as needed, and take for service when directed by the Assessor or Administrator.
• Order/purchase all maintenance supplies.
• Ensure the United States Flag is in good condition and flying in accordance with all governmental regulations and half-staff notices.
• Run office errands as necessary to complete the duties of the position.
• Be “on-call” for the township facilities.
• Prepare Facility for Public Use
o Staff the community center for evening and weekend rentals.
o Open and close / lock and un-lock the facility as needed.
o Arrange facility for special events i.e., set up and take down tables and chairs for quilters, seniors, tops, board meetings, early voting, polling place and any other scheduled events.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Administrator.
Skills/Position Requirements
• Must have a high school diploma.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to lift heavy items and climb ladders.
• Must be able to bend and perform landscaping ground work, etc.
• Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule to work some nights and weekends.
• Must be able to perform minor general handyman maintenance work.
• Working knowledge of building structures and building equipment a plus.

Pay: Starting at $15/hour
