Bicycle Mechanic
Hello fun!
At Pedego San Antonio, we seek people who are fun, energetic, customer friendly and hard working. We are looking for someone who is process-driven, detail oriented, and organized, but also excited to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. The mechanic role demands a self starting, challenge-seeking problem solver. We have an immediate opening for someone who is interested in having fun working with electric bikes Tuesday through Sunday. This job requires experience in bike repairs however training in retail bike sales will be provided.
Responsibilities
Assemble new bikes and perform quality control checks
Repair e-bikes to the highest of standards; assessing wear and tear, accidental damage
Repair, examine, and service components of bicycle
Wheel truing basics
Crank arm/ bottom bracket replacement
Change derailleurs
Headset overhaul
Changing brakes, brake levers and shifter levers
Changing all kinds of cables
Limit screws adjustment (both derailleurs)
Center brakes & disc brakes
Chain check, replacement
Basic hydraulic maintenance understanding
Refurbish bicycles for sale
Maintain inventory of workshop
Clean and organize workshop
Maintain schedule, coordinate delay’s and changes through calendar
May set up, take down, or assist with special event parking.
Communicate with our customer service team to schedule customer appointments
Assist with ordering parts when necessary
Requirements
~2 years of relevant experience e.g., bicycles (electric or not), automotive, motorcycles, etc
Working knowledge of how bikes are assembled and repaired
Working knowledge of how to fix the electric components of a bike will be highly regarded
Self-starter
Solid work ethic
Ambassador for a fun and healthy lifestyle
Ability to lift up to 70lbs
