Apprentice
***This position is based in Lynchburg, VA.***
Green Air, Inc. is seeking a full-time HVAC Duct Mechanic and Apprentices for our Construction department to be an essential part of system installs on our commercial and residential projects; perfume layout and install of required materials and equipment for HVAC systems. Our Duct Mechanics also provide on-the-job-training to helpers and apprentices for them to succeed in the HVAC trade. Green Air, Inc. will assist in providing overnight stay accommodations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare job site(s) for installing ductwork.
Install and run new duct into various types of buildings, including residential homes, commercial businesses, and multi-story buildings.
Instruct apprentices on daily tasks and duties.
Take direction from Foreman on details of project(s).
Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed according to company and state guidelines.
Read and interpret construction drawings for all trades.
Welding and brazing
Clean up work areas and account for all tools, equipment, and assets.
Document and maintain timecard through software application.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of HVAC, duct work, and/or construction in general
Two years of experience
Requirements
Must be willing to travel. Overnight travel may be required.
Must have own tools.
Must be able to pass a background and drug screen.
Must be able to read/write English; Spanish is a plus.
