Overview:

Reporting directly to the Air Quality Programs Director, the Air Quality Programs and Policy Manager (Air Quality Manager) will be responsible for the management, sustainability, and daily operations of multiple air quality projects and for managing advocacy efforts at the statewide and local levels.

Specific responsibilities include:

Air Quality Programs (75%)

The Air Quality Manager will be responsible for the management of two air quality grants, Sacramento Environmental Justice Community Air Monitoring Project and Wildfire Smoke Emergency Preparedness Plan. In addition, the manager will serve as a project partner on an initiative called Sacramento Neighborhoods Activating on Air Quality helping to create community outreach and education materials.

The candidate will be responsible for:
� Coordination and facilitation of meetings for collaboration with project partners
� Management of program staff
� Management of project budgets
� Grant reporting and documentation
� Support grant writing for renewal of existing grants and new grant funding
� Participate in community and special events.

Policy/External Affairs (20%)

The Air Quality Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the major functions of regional external affairs work as well as stakeholder outreach, engagement, and education. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of local, statewide, and national clean air initiatives and is well connected with a diverse set of regional stakeholders.



The candidate will be responsible for:
� Convening bi-monthly local policy and advocacy committee meetings with staff, volunteers, and regional stakeholders on air quality issues
� In coordination with the Breathe California statewide alliance, track and develop positions on statewide legislation
� Contribute to environmental and public health coalition coordinated campaigns
� Represent Sacramento in the statewide and national alliances

Other Duties as required (5%)
� Assist with the agency�s fundraising events
� Attend regular staff meetings

Required skills and experience:
� Time management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
� Excellent speaking and writing skills
� Strong organizational and analytical skills
� Ability to communicate complex policy ideas succinctly and clearly
� Excellent ability to work with people and demonstrate credibility
� Must be a nonsmoker
� Dependable transportation required

Location:
This is a hybrid position located in Sacramento, California with the option to split time between working remotely from home and in the office.

Benefits:
This is a full-time, hourly position, with a $50,000 salary. Breathe California Sacramento Region provides health, vacation, sick leave, and other benefits.
