Volunteer Outreach & Community Manager

We are looking for a detail-oriented and focused volunteer manager responsible for our volunteers and volunteer opportunities database. The volunteer manager�s responsibilities include recruiting and training new volunteers, managing the administrative database of skills-based volunteers, matching volunteers to options that suit their skills, keeping volunteers informed, soliciting sponsors, creating rewards and incentive opportunities, appreciation events and outings, and conveying the organization's purpose to the public. You should also have exceptional writing skills as you will be contributing weekly to the company newsletter and corresponding regularly via email to professionals, partners, prospective volunteers and pitching to local policy makers. You should be able to fully endorse the values of our organization, have a sincere interest in helping improve the lives of borrowers with burdensome student loan debt while ensuring the comfort of our volunteers.

A successful Volunteer Manager should be meticulous about keeping records and passionate about volunteer work and the subject of student loan forgiveness. This individual should be comfortable being externally-facing and traveling to universities, attending recruitment events, and regularly visiting nonprofit organizations to support partnership recruitment efforts.

The volunteer coordinator will work closely with the Production Manager and participate in health pop-up event planning and preparation. The Volunteer Manager must be in attendance at most pop-up events and pre-production preparation days. The Volunteer Manager will serve as the Resource Lead on-site at the community pop-up events and welcome, direct, and assist volunteers and guests. In pre-production planning, the Volunteer Manager is responsible for helping to procure event sponsors for volunteer rewards and giveaways, participating in the planning of webinars and other programming that amplifies the company's mission of wellness, service, and debt relief. The Volunteer Coordinator will also create volunteer welcome bags with pertinent information, resources, and tools.

The Volunteer Coordinator is a vital part of the production team and, as such, will be explicitly involved in helping to manage inventory, marketing material, banner placement at events, and ensuring that the Production Manager feels adequately supported in production preparation. This may include recruiting additional volunteers in the preparation and setup of events.

Other programming responsibilities of the Volunteer Manager include soliciting speakers for webinars and fireside chat discussions in collaboration with Media Lead. The volunteer coordinator is responsible for planning the Sound of Goodness Volunteer Appreciation Concert. This is an annual event to celebrate the organization's mission and
the volunteers who have participated. It is also a time that a substantial amount of loan forgiveness is rewarded to a volunteer.

Volunteer Manager Responsibilities:

Recruiting, training, and supervising new volunteers.
Collecting volunteer information, availability, and skills, and maintaining an
up-to-date database.
Using marketing tools such as outreach programs, e-mails, and volunteer databases.
Keeping new and existing volunteers informed about the organization and volunteer opportunities.
Matching volunteers to options that suit their skill sets and ensuring they understand their responsibilities and receive the proper training.
Organizing training and leading on-the-job training.
Keeping schedules and records of volunteers' work.
Preparing codes of conduct and operating procedures to uphold the organization's values.
Ensuring the organization's purpose is conveyed to the public.
Volunteer Coordinator Requirements:
An associate's degree in business management, human resources, communications, or a related field.
Experience in volunteering and recruitment.
Working knowledge of databases.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fantastic organization and team-building skills.
Compensation: Contractor for three months trial then full time employment may be offered based on productivity. -3 months before any benefits are negotiated): $4400/month, flexible hours, production cadence; some weeks are heavier than others, but the average is 35 hours per week. $120 quarterly wellness benefit: parking, Student Loan Repayment Benefit, and travel reimbursement.''Work Remotely 50% of the time.
