Instructor

Paint the Town offers mobile painting parties and team building events. We are looking to hire fun painting instructors to lead these "painting parties", primarily on weekday afternoons and weekends. Check out our site here: ------------
You'll have fun sharing your passion for art, while also developing interpersonal skills and meeting different people! Our engagements are intimate (typically 10-20 guests), and our customers are friendly and respectful.
This is a gig based position that requires weekday availability (at least 2 weekdays free between Tuesday and Friday from 1-7 PM), and you can set your own schedule and take on events as you'd like. We host these private events at the request of customers, so this is a gig-based job and events will vary in timing, frequency, and location.
This is a great side hustle thats easy to balance with other part-time jobs, freelancing, or school!
ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENTS:
- Have at least 2 weekdays free between Tuesday and Friday from 1-7 PM, as well as occasional weekends
- Need a car and valid license, to drive to events and transport art supplies
- Be reliable and responsive. You MUST be punctual and a self starter
- Strong internet connection if doing virtual events too
IDEAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be reliable and responsive. Its a repeat of whats above, but its important that we can trust our instructors to be on time and prepared!
- Outgoing and charismatic; be able to engage people both individually and as a group
- Be able to read, understand, and address peoples needs
- Proficient with using acrylic paints. Preferably a Fine Arts student, but self taught is also accepted
- Great communicator in English. Must be able to break down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-understand steps for beginners
- Patient and calm in stressful situations (e.g. guests being loud or not paying attention)
.IF INTERESTED, PLEASE RESPOND TO THE FOLLOWING:
1) What city you live in (including zip code), and your willingness to drive around (with mileage compensation)
2) Whether you have a car and valid driver's license
3) Your work experience with painting and/or teaching
4) Your general availability (days/times you're free to do potential painting parties)
5) What other commitments/jobs you have going on, currently and in the foreseeable future
6) Your email and phone number

INTERVIEW PROCESS:
1. Intro phone call/info session for 20-30 minutes
2. Observe a virtual paint party that weve hosted and see what its like, and read through our instruction guide for leading parties (1 hour).
3. Meet for a 1:1 painting session over Zoom, where youll teach us how to paint an image as if were a total beginner (1 hour)
4. Lead a virtual paint party as the instructor, with another member of our team there for support, continuity, and feedback (1.5 hours). This is paid at the training rate of $15/hour.
