Onward behavior was started in Oahu with the purpose of working together with families of children diagnosed with Autism and related disorders, to help them achieve their child's goals in a fun, professional, and collaborative manner. We bring our tools and skills to clients homes to help their families learn and grow, while providing training and guidance for their needs.

We are searching for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team of experienced professionals who are passionate about the well-being of children diagnosed with Autism and related disorders. Position Summary:

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) provide direct 1:1 direct therapy based on individualized goals under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). RBT's will work with children on building skills such as adaptive behavior, communication, daily living, and behavior reduction. RBTs are required to implement programs as written, collect data, assist in assessments as needed, and meet all RBT competency objectives as part of their credential.

Job Duties:

  • Provide direct 1:1 therapy in home, implementing instructional programs for skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols based on ABA principles.
  • Collect data on all instructional programs on an ongoing basis.
  • Implement behavior analytic teaching methods such as natural environment teaching, discrete trial teaching, prompt fading, and desensitization for skill acquisition and behavior reduction during session.
  • Complete documentation notes each session
  • Work and collaborate with families and supervisor for the ultimate outcomes of the client.
  • Accepting and implementing feedback under the supervision of the BCBA supervisor
  • Maintain client confidentiality as written in the RBT handbook.
  • Arrive at sessions on time
  • Maintain CPR certification
  • Maintain clear, ethical, and professional boundaries with clients, family, and caregivers.
  • Promote respect and dignity to clients and family members and caregivers.
  • Report safety concerns, or ethical violations to supervisor as soon as possible.
  • Comply with mandated reporter guidelines and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate and follow instructional programs and behavior reduction plans as instructed by the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must have a current Registered behavior Technician (RBT) Certification or willingness to train and achieve certification within one month of hire date.
  • Must have a working and reliable vehicle and valid drivers license (along with the willingness to travel to clients homes).
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to maintain a variety of physical positions working with children (i.e., kneeling, crawling, jumping up and down, laying on back, laying on stomach, sitting in a chair, standing up).
  • Must have the necessary computer skills to navigate various methods of remote supervision, program data collection, and behavior reduction instructions.
  • Able to listen to and implement feedback quickly
  • Able to read and comprehend the English language
  • Able to play and engage with children
  • Comfortable with typical childcare tasks such as changing diapers, and feeding
  • Maintain professional and positive attitude while working with clients

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
