Job Position Title: Procedural radiology technician

Job Type: PRN

Reports To: Practice Manager, Doctors

Summary Description:

The Radiology Technician's primary function is to assist the physicians in the procedure room through operation of a C-arm in accordance with established accreditation regulations and guidelines, as well as established policies and procedures. Procedures include uterine fibroid embolization, liver embolization, prostate artery embolization, and arteriograms.

Minimum requirements:

- Eligibility: All employees must be able to provide proof of their identity and their right to work in the United States and pass a background check.

- Education/Experience/Licenses/Certificates/Eligibility: Current Colorado state x-ray license and fluoroscopy permit

Responsibilities:

Perform the following duties as needed:

- Follows C-arm manufacturers instructions, troubleshoots errors, works with tech supervisor for all needs.

- Clean the machine and procedure table between patients and at the end of the day

- Wear lead aprons, thyroid collars, monitoring badge, and protective glasses while the imaging equipment is in use.

- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with rules, procedures and regulations.

- Prepares patient for procedure by assisting patient positioning, adjusting the operating table, adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.

- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors

- Push images to PACS, enter numbers into procedure report, and scan inventory

- Works in harmony with others

- Accepts full responsibility for his/her actions

- Adheres to established policies and procedures and sets an example of appropriate behavior

- Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience in procedure room. Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately

- Ability to utilize resources in an organized and effective manner

- Machines, Equipment, Work Aides: Standard operating room supplies and equipment

- Physical Demands/Work Environment: Ability to work on your feet for up to 6 hours at a time while wearing lead, moving patients from stretcher to bed, transporting supply boxes from front of clinic to stocking destination in a fast paced, sometimes stressful team oriented environment

Salary Range:

- $25.00 - $55.00 per hour depending on experience

Standard shift:

- Day shift

Weekly schedule:

- Monday to Friday as needed
