Publishing Intern

Hello! I'm a full-time editorial director and a novelist on the side. I currently work very long days and am looking for a part-time personal assistant or intern (someone interested in a career within the publishing industry or as an author) for about 10 hours per month. The type of work would be a mix of household tasks (researching and booking tree trimming or hiring a dog trainer, for example), admin tasks (filing insurance reimbursement claims, listing items for resale on eBay) and author-related tasks (researching historical details for a book-in-progress, drafting social media posts, organizing giveaways, mailing signed bookplates). During some months I'd need more help with admin/house stuff (this would NOT include manual labor!), and other months I might need more help with my website or promo in the lead up to a book release.

I can pay $20/hr for 10 hours per month. The schedule is flexible, and a mix of remote and in-person would work fine. For someone interested in becoming an author or finding a job in publishing, I'd be happy to offer informal guidance or 2 hours per month of structured mentoring.
