Lutheran Child & Family Services is searching for a part-time Development Associate who will be responsible for entering donor gifts, producing donor acknowledgements, entering and updating donor information into eTapestry, assisting with Development department activities, and providing administrative and program support.

Primary Functions:

  • Accurately process and enter gifts for the Foundation & Agency, as well as enter Pledge information in a timely manner
  • Copy all checks received and prepare bank deposits; process donation checks and/or documentation for gift entry
  • Properly code all cash, credit, stock, & in-kind gifts into eTapestry database
  • Copy pledge card for eTapestry; submit original and a copy to accounting department
  • Produce batch reports & submit to designated staff for review
  • Prepare, process, and mail donor/pledge acknowledgement and reminder letters
  • File and maintain donor/gift and pledge records/payments
  • Enter all future actions and reminders associated with pledges in eTapestry

2) Collect, enter, and scrub program data for grant reports

  • Collect and enter program data into ETO database
  • De-duplicate food pantry data

3) Prepare mailing lists for LCFS appeals and newsletters

4) Assist in personalizing the donor experience by completing donor specific tasks including but not limited to:

  • Conducting donor research o Calling and emailing donors
  • Writing and sending handwritten notes/messages

5) Provide administrative support to LCFS Development, Accounting, and HR staff, including but not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate constituent records in eTapestry
  • Enter & track actions/notes in the donor database
  • Maintain donor display board, updating as needed
  • Make deposits at proper banks
  • Provide General Administrative Support

6) Assist with planning/implementation of Development Activities and Special Events

  • Assist with event planning
  • Assist with soliciting and coordinating sponsorships for events
  • Assist with participation registration/check-in for events
  • Assist with event set-up and clean-up

7) Assist with once-a-year program give-a-way events (Thanksgiving Give-a-way, Christmas Store, etc.) to include, but not limited to communicating with referrals, collecting & organizing data, set-up, clean-up, etc.

  • Communication with referral sources o Collection & organization of client data
  • Solicitation and collection of donations (monetary & in-kind)
  • Purchase of products used for program o Attendance during, set-up and clean-up

8) Main Contact for TEDD (The Emergency Diaper Dispensary)

9) Other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent organization & communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook; experience in eTapestry & ETO helpful
  • Data entry
  • Must be detailed oriented and a critical thinker
  • Must have a drive to learn
  • Ability to remain engaged in work

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalency required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License

Working Environment:

  • Able to work hours needed to accomplish assigned tasks, to include evenings, weekends, & holidays for special events and other programming

Drug screen, TB test and extensive background checks (including Criminal History, Sex Offender Registry Search, State Central Registry Check, Education Verification, and Professional References) are required of all LCFS employees.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
