Voodoo Café is local family owned café located in Bartlett. Voodoo Cafe dishes up scrumptious beignets & international coffees with a Voodoo twist. Voodoo doll shaped dough is fried and then topped with powdered sugar. Our mission is to expose coffee lovers to wonderful international coffees not served in commercial coffee houses.
We are looking for a new team member to join our team. Our team is committed to going above and beyond for our guests by serving hand crafted beverages & the best beignets in Memphis with the charm and personality Voodoo Café is known for.
Ideal candidates will have a customer service background, work well as a team, and have a vibrant, outgoing personality. Our focus is providing amazing customer experience and connecting with each customer.
We are looking for employees to work the week days Tuesday-Friday 7am-3pm shifts
You must be open minded and ready for a fast paced work environment.
Requirements:
- Desire to provide extraordinary customer service with each customer interaction
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Love working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Dependable, punctual, strong work ethic, and highly communicative
- Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress in fast pasted environment
- Basic math skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be at least 16 years of age
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains punctual attendance
- Strong work ethic, staying busy to insure the store is ready for peak performance
- Greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Confident knowledge of coffee & beignet offerings. Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers.
- Serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process.
- Enters orders accurately into POS device; accepts cash and charge payments.
- Relays relevant concerns from customers to supervisors.
- Serves customers quickly and efficiently, and prevents delays in serving lines.
- Prepares coffee & beignet orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
- Follow standard operating procedure in all aspects, especially with drink builds, cleanliness, workflow, and customer service as instructed by management personnel
- Attention to general tidiness of store, keeping work spaces clean at all times
- Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area.
- Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils.
- Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
- Performing deep cleaning tasks as detailed in checklists from management
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Recommend new menu items
- Respond positively to feedback from team leads & management
- Inform management of any maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour + tips
