QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma
Current certification in CPR/PR, First Aid, Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor and remain current through duration of employment
Experience as Water Safety Instructor Trainer and Lifeguard Instructor or obtained within one year of hire.
Two years experience in supervising aquatics program
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and give clear direction when necessary
Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse groups of faculty, students, staff and community partners and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Flexibility to adapt work schedule to include nights and weekends when needed
RESPONSIBILITIES

Alongside the Aquatics Program Coordinator, oversee the day to day aquatics operations and programming for District 196 Community Education.
Serve as primary swim lesson manager.
Organize instructors, support teachers and lifeguard staff, communicate with patrons at the pool and ensure safety and security measures are followed.
Assist with coordination of certification training programs including course planning, marketing, management of equipment and supplies, scheduling staff, teaching courses, maintaining course records and student information.
Assist Aquatics Program Coordinator in overall program duties including coordinating classes, special events, marketing, recruitment, staffing and registration.
Assist Aquatic Programs Coordinator in planning and conducting in-service training for program staff.
Assist with on-call responsibilities for issues that arise outside of office hours.
Assist with management of equipment and program supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
