Under the mentorship of a Le Cordon Bleu trained French pastry chef, you will learn the art of baking and decorating everything from simple breakfast pastries to exquisite multi-tier wedding cakes.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience with home or professional baking.
  • Love of baking and willingness to learn and grow as a pastry chef.
  • A positive attitude and a deep passion for baking and creating sweet treats.
  • Strong attention to detail ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Strong work ethic and effective time management skills to ensure timely production.
  • Capability to handle large kitchen equipment, utensils, and ingredients with precision.
  • Ability to stand on a tile floor for extended periods (shifts range from 4-8 hours).
  • Availability for flexible scheduling based on orders and production needs.
  • Must have own transportation.

Responsibilities:

As a Pastry Apprentice, you will work closely with our head pastry chef and have a range of responsibilities including:

  • Reviewing written task lists at the start of your shift.
  • Preparing ingredients and executing the production of assorted baked goods, mini desserts, fillings, and frostings.
  • Organizing finished baked goods and maintaining a well-organized workspace.
  • Restocking supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure seamless production.
  • Daily clean up and sanitization of the kitchen, equipment, and utensils to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assisting in the assembly of cake tiers, cupcakes, and assorted baked goods/mini desserts.
  • Preparing buttercreams, frostings, and fillings to perfection.
  • Collaborating with the head chef for occasional finishing touches on tiers, mini desserts, or baked goods.
  • Further preparation and production of mini desserts to meet the demand.
  • Preparing sampler boxes to showcase our delicious creations.
  • Getting hands-on experience working closely with the head chef on larger specialty custom cake projects.
