Position Type: Internship, Non-Exempt, Contract
Duration: Six months
Hours/Week: 20 hours
Location: Flexible (teleworking); Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Salary: $1,625/month = $9,750 for six months

This is a paid internship opportunity for a person with an eye for fundraising, communications or marketing, a passion for making a difference in the world, and a good sense of humor. The internship provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining great experience for a future career in nonprofit development work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Junior undergraduate seeking a degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Administration, Political Science or any related field is preferred, but those with other work experience, not pursuing a degree are also encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter and entrepreneurial.
  • Ability to commit at least 15-20 hours per week toward the internship.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and a basic understanding of the importance of editorial guidelines and brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in strategy development for building a development communications campaign for 2024.
  • Craft blog posts on behalf of the development team.
  • Draft emails for email marketing campaigns for fundraising and stewardship purposes.
  • Research/collect information on our constituents: individual donors, corporations and foundations.
  • Provide support during portfolio and prospect meetings.
  • Collect and record donor information as needed.
