Substance Abuse Counselor

Seek Counseling is a comprehensive therapy and counseling provider located in Brooklyn, NY. We specialize in helping individuals overcome substance use disorders and improve their mental health and wellness. Our services include Office of Addiction Supports and Services (OASAS) Part 822 Medically Supervised Outpatient treatment, medication-assisted therapies, support groups, and non-clinical support provided by Certified Recovery Coaches.
 

Role Description
 

This is a full-time on-site role for a Substance Abuse Counselor. The Substance Abuse Counselor will be responsible for treatment planning, case management, relapse prevention, and providing mental health support to clients. The counselor will work closely with individuals and their families to develop customized recovery programs and provide ongoing support.
 

Qualifications
 

• Treatment Planning and Case Management skills
• Chemical Dependency and Relapse Prevention knowledge
• Experience in Mental Health counseling
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Experience in a substance abuse treatment setting
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices in addiction counseling
• Certification or license in Substance Abuse Counseling or related field
