POSITION: Scientist
CANDIDATE: Undergraduate/graduate student, temporary or career position, disciplines: BA/BS/MA/MS in chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, or other applied science.
SKILLS: Technical understanding of scientific method as applied in the laboratory, emphasis in manufacturing, knowledge of materials in microelectronics (silicon & FPD), lithography, care and use of lab equipment from ovens and hot plates to spin and spray coating. Must know and use of Microsoft Office software (WORD, PPT, Excel). Writing skills include: procedures, memos, reports, and assist others with publications and patents. Presentation skills include: company team members, customers, and international conferences. Express maturity and professionalism to represent a strong image for self and the company in daily email, conference calls, and presentations.
LANGUAGE: English; fluency in Mandarin & Japanese a plus.
DUTIES: Designing and conducting experiments using liquids and solids, studying polymer properties, carrying-out methods of analysis (SOPs), know-how of common practices in microelectronic manufacturing. Measurements during testing, data collection, report preparation, analysis and presentation of results, drawing skills by common software to depict flow charts and processes. Assist others to strategize on product development and identify benefits.
SCHOOL: Position may include academic projects at school that qualify for “senior projects”, degree project, or related need. Many projects involve extensive investigative work, gathering and organizing a great deal of data, post experimental confirmation at an outside laboratory or a client’s facility, and writing to create a draft that would qualify for a publication at an international conference. A culmination may include presenting at that conference.
MARKETS: Microelectronics, automotive, industrial
SCHEDULE: Position is F/T or P/T and may accept a level of flexibility with the student’s school schedule. Work may range from ~5days per month to F/T.
TRAVEL: F/T candidates may be expected to travel with other team members domestic or abroad. Foreign countries may include TW, JP, SG, CN, KR, and to the EU. Travel includes meetings and customer on-site work. Travel expenses paid.
