911 Plumbing & Heating is currently looking for a Plumber’s Helper/Pipe Fitter/Experienced Dirt Worker in Great Falls, MT. The pay, for this position, is dependent on experience and craftsmanship. We are looking for an individual to add to our team of dedicated, safe, productive, and proven craftsmen. 911 Plumbing & Heating provides weekly pay for all employees with PTO (paid time off), health insurance and a company match IRA.

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting plumbers at homes and businesses in the area, by helping install, repair and maintain all plumbing systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Pipefitter experience preferred: capable of installing, repairing and maintaining piping systems for heating and cooling, hot and cold water, natural gas and more.
  • Assist in installing and maintaining plumbing systems.
  • Install systems used to distribute water, waste, gases or liquids.
  • Ensure systems meet all standards of building codes and safety.
  • Select all materials needed for installation, including type and size of pipe.
  • Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads or unloads materials.
  • Install supports and hangers for pipes, fixtures and equipment.
  • Assemble and install valves and fittings.
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
  • Install other plumbing equipment: such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners and appliances.
  • Dirt work experience preferred: able to perform activities such as excavations, backfilling, trenching, ditching, slope work, erosion control, grubbing, stumping, clearing, looming, fine grading and final clean up. 
  • Operate heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite and/or assignment.
  • Maintains tools, equipment or other systems as directed in plans or by supervisor.

 

Requirements and skills:

  • High school diploma or GED REQUIRED.
  • MUST have a valid driver’s license AND clean driving record.
  • Be punctual to work, reliable attendance expected and being timely to appointments with customers.
  • Knowledge of health and safety guidelines when dealing with dangerous equipment or chemicals.
  • Good numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work longer shifts and overtime.
  • Customer Service is a must!
  • Must have goals and aspirations to enter the apprenticeship program to become a licensed plumber.
