Ophthalmic Technician

Friendly, helpful, kind. These are the qualities we are looking for in a ophthalmic technician to make our little work family complete. Eyepolis is a small Ophthalmology office and boutique optical store located across St. Therese’s Church in Munhall. Expert, personalized care with a small-town feel makes this a special place. We see 10-15 happy and adoring patients each day, most of whom we know by name (and favorite baked goods). Previous experience very welcomed but willing to train. Duties:

- Obtain patient medical history, including current medications and allergies 

- Perform preliminary work up, such as visual acuity, color vision, etc.

- Perform visual field testing 

- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits

- Administer dilating eye drops 

- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow

 

Experience:

- Previous experience as an ophthamic technician or in a similar role preferred 

- Familiarity with medical records systems and electronic health records (EHR) 

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines 

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask 

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
