FRISCO, TX (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED)-Wonderful parents in Frisco, TX, (30-40 minutes outside of Dallas), seek a LIVE-OUT NANNY for their 2-year-old son from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. They are also open to 30 hours per week if preferred by the nanny. They are flexible to accommodate schedules.

Their son has Epilepsy and gross motor skill development delays. He doesn't walk independently yet and is somewhat verbal with 4-5 words. He primarily communicates through intuitive gestures but communicates well. He is in speech therapy and physical therapy outside of the house 2-3 times per week, as well as in-home speech therapy. It is helpful for the nanny to be there to observe therapy sessions, but it is not required. He is very happy and sweet. He likes to play, explore, and has a strong sense of humor. He loves people and personal attention like any toddler.

Both parents work in and out of the home in a separate floor 2-3 days per week. They try to have at least one parent or grandparent in the home to help if their son has a seizure or needs medication. They are there to help, not micromanage! His seizures are subtle and may present as an eye roll or a small involuntary muscle movement that even his parents cannot always notice, but they try to track them daily to communicate with his medical team. His seizures are not grand mal and are barely noticeable, but they can make him dizzy. Thus, if the nanny notices seizure activity, they just ask that he/she hold him steady in case he gets dizzy.

The child takes medication on a specific schedule. Parents don’t want to put that liability on their nanny and will therefore be present to administer medication and immediately respond with help if he has a seizure. His medication makes him dizzy so he is unsteady on his feet and needs help walking and playing. He is on a very specific and restrictive diet, so parents will take care of meal prep as well. The nanny’s sole duty is to entertain him, monitor him and keep him safe. No meal prep, cooking, transportation, household chores or medication administration is required of the nanny.
Parents seek a vigilant caregiver who can be a playmate to their son while parents can provide diet and medication oversight. They are looking for someone energetic who can get on the floor and play with him, pick him up, etc. They are looking for a person who is kind and has the ability to lift between 30 - 40lbs, as well as the ability to sit, stand and play on the floor with an active toddler. Someone who has the compassion and patience to work with a toddler who is still learning to communicate. Their nanny must be able to communicate well with the parents in a high level of detail to provide daily updates that they can relay to their son’s medical team. Someone who is not on their phone and has their eye on the child at all times to ensure his safety. Must be immunized according to CDC recommendations due to the child’s immune risk.

Benefits include paid sick days, holidays and vacation. Start date is early September. Pay is $25-30/hour gross via payroll depending on experience.
