A fun-loving Austin-based family is seeking a travel-ready career nanny to join them in caring for their 3.5-year-old and baby on the way!

Location: Austin, TX (Zilker Neighborhood)
Ages of children: 3.5 years old. The family is expecting their second child in December 2023!
Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday from 1pm to 7pm or similar, as well as one date night per week. Flexibility for schedule changes, occasional weekends/overnights, and travel will be key, especially as the family welcomes the baby this winter and travels the world next year!
Compensation: The family is offering $35-40/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $73-83k/year dependent on experience and the agreed-upon schedule. Overtime opportunities will be available, and the family may be open to candidates who are seeking a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, and relocation assistance based on candidate need and the full benefits package.
Live-in/Live-out: Flexible to live-in or live-out in Austin. If live-in, a private 1 bedroom casita across the street from the family’s home will be provided. The family is open to providing a housing stipend if a candidate prefers to live out. The role will be live-in during the year of travel in 2024!

This laid-back and organized family is eager to bring a nanny into their next two years of adventure! They have big plans in the works, including welcoming baby number two in December of this year, and embarking on a year of international travel in summer 2024! Their 3.5-year-old is described by her parents as a playful preschooler, and she attends a local Montessori school near their home in Austin.
This family has a Midwest meets NYC vibe with a heavy Bay Area influence, and they value fun, learning, and exploration. They are excited to work with a nanny who shares their progressive, conscious approach to raising kids, loves taking care of little ones, and is looking for a great adventure! One parent works full-time while the other parent is home, and they hope to partner with a caregiver who is confident working independently as well as collaboratively. They will have a newborn care specialist support them overnight when the baby arrives. While the role will be largely Austin-based until summer 2024, the family is excited to find someone who will join them on their year of international travel! They have plans to spend 2-3 months in 5-6 international locations throughout the year.
Ideal candidate:
This position is ideal for someone a candidate who brings a balance of professionalism, fun and positive energy, and travel readiness! A nanny who revels in the early childhood years and who brings experience supporting families on their travels will be a great fit. Until the baby is born, the role will focus on their 3.5-year-old and pitching in around the house with light family assisting duties and will shift more to supporting the baby once they welcome their second child. Someone who is excited to support their changing needs as their family grows is key!
Responsibilities include creating an environment for the children to grow and thrive, household tasks including but not limited to meal prep, tidying, organizing of children’s areas, children’s laundry, occasional errands, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year. A willingness to pitch in with family assisting duties will be appreciated, especially before the baby comes.
While not a requirement for the role, the family loves the Montessori approach and would welcome any candidates with this background and/or other child-related educational backgrounds!
Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
Valid driver’s license and passport
Experience with the newborn through the preschool age range and knowledge of age-appropriate developmental milestones
Experience traveling with families and children
Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
