LOS ANGELES, CA (LOCAL CANDIDATES) - Culver City family seeking a special needs nanny for their 11-year-old son with high-functioning autism(recently adopted nephew). The child suffers from level-1 Autism and needs a nanny who understands children with Autism and children who have undergone trauma. He was recently been adopted by his aunt and uncle(the employer) and has extended family who helps adn are around regularly. The family needs someone to have the ability to work Saturdays and drive the child to and from activities. The nanny would need to drive their own vehicle, the family will reimburse mileage at the federal rate. There are 2 additional daughters in the home ages 11 and 8, but the main duties are to care for the son.

The 11-year-old enjoys visiting his grandmother's home in Santa Rosa on the weekends. The grandmother has some animals; a horse, chicken, etc. The child is vegan, while his family is not so the candidate needs to understand his independent needs.

He is enrolled in a bunch of summer programs. Both parents work from home and they would like to nanny to engage him both indoors and outside the home. The house is roughly 1500 sq feet and they try to get the children out of the home for activities as often.  

Hours: 
4 days a week: roughly 7-9 am, 12-3am 
Saturday: 8 am - 8 pm

The 11-year-old can be argumentative and the nanny needs to have experience with autistic children. He has a no-contact order with his dad. The perfect candidate will be someone who will grow long-term and possibly travel with the family for a 1-week trip over the summer. During the trip, the family would like the nanny to assist with overnights for that week. Dates of the trip 7/26-8/3 the family would need full coverage during the day and overnight help.

The son has ABA therapy every weekday afternoon at the home from 3 - 7 pm. Duties include helping with morning drop-offs, pick up from school around 12, then being with him from 12-3 pm. Then help all day Saturday. Possibly take him to social outings.

Vaccines are preferred; MMR, Tdap, Covid, and Flu. The family can guarantee 35 hours/week, with tons of flexibility. The nanny must be able to provide all-day Saturday coverage. The family can guarantee 2 consecutive days off for the nanny. Start date is ASAP. Pay is $25/hr.
