A professional and travel-loving family based in San Francisco, CA is seeking a communicative, collaborative infant and toddler-savvy career nanny to help care for their two children!

Location: San Francisco, CA
Ages of children: 2 years old and a baby due this fall
Start date/Contract dates: October 1st, or as soon as they find the right fit!
Schedule: Full-time, 4-day/week schedule, guaranteeing 40 hours per week with the general schedule falling on Thursday through Sunday. Candidates will work Thursdays from 4pm to 8pm, and Fridays through Sundays from 8am to 8pm. Flexibility for overnights and travel (both weekend trips and 5-10 day trips) will be essential for the right candidate!
Compensation: The family is offering $45-55/hour based on the 40-hour/week schedule, inclusive of overtime after 9 hours/day in the state of CA, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $100-123K/year range. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
Benefits: The family is open to providing paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use (if required), and relocation assistance based on the candidate’s need and the full benefits package.
Live-in/Live-out: Live-in or live-out. If live-in, private, and separate accommodations are provided in the family’s home. If live out, the family is happy to offer a housing stipend. The family’s preference is for a candidate who will live-in on work days and live-out the remainder of the week, but are open to a candidate who lives in year-round pending candidate preference and location.
Household dynamic:
Based in the heart of San Francisco, this return Adventure Nannies family describes themselves as a kind, loyal family who work hard to balance professionalism and fun. They have a 2-year-old son and a new baby on the way this October! Their son will start Montessori school full-time in the fall, and the family will have the support of a Newborn Care Specialist beginning in October as they transition to life as a family of four.
These dual-career parents are in and out of the house on a regular basis, so a candidate who is comfortable collaborating daily with parents and their other nanny is important. They love to travel whenever possible throughout the year both on domestic and international adventures and are thrilled to begin bringing the newest member of their family with them! The family deeply values a high level of communication within their home and places an emphasis on striking a balance between autonomy and partnership with their caregiver. They are excited to welcome an infant and toddler-savvy nanny to their home who can provide well-rounded care and grow with their children for years to come!
Ideal candidate:
This position is ideal for an experienced candidate who has a strong background in caring for infants and toddlers in the same role. A candidate who is attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about playing an integral role in a child’s early stages of development will thrive in this position. Flexibility and an adventurous spirit will also be valued, as the nanny will provide support both at home and on their frequent travels! The family hopes to work with a nanny who considers professionalism, discretion, reliability, and open and honest communication as pillars of their character. A step-in and step-out intuition will also be appreciated to both take the lead and be a guide and resource, as well as let the parents take the lead and jump in during the day for fun activities.
Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the children to grow and thrive! This includes but is not limited to proactively researching and implementing developmentally-minded care, child-related tidying and organizing, child-related meal prep (both bottles and solids), children’s laundry, and light household tidying. Someone who can pitch in and leave the home clean and organized will be valued.
While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with NCS or doula training, and/or a candidate who has extensive travel nanny experience.
Qualifications:
3 years of professional childcare experience
Valid driver’s license and passport
Experience traveling with families and children
Experienced caring for an infant and toddler in a previous position(s) and knowledge of age-appropriate developmental milestones
Fully vaccinated and boosted (when eligible) against COVID-19 prior to the start date in accordance with applicable laws
This position is open to all Adventure Nannies candidates who are legally able to work in the US. Out of respect for the privacy of the families we work with, we cannot provide any additional information about this position other than what has already been provided in the job description.
