Middle School Teacher
Cornerstone Christian School (CCS) seeks a qualified teacher to teach multi-age middle school. A candidate should be capable of teaching subjects such as ELA, social science, and/or technology and either be certified to teach 6-8 or have a valid middle school endorsement in at least one of these subject areas. CCS has small classes and a positive working relationship between faculty and staff. CCS’s mission is to prepare children to glorify God as ambassadors of Jesus Christ by providing a biblical foundation, Christian values, and a challenging academic program.
The candidate should be able to:
• Teach a subject based upon the State of Michigan standards.
• Have appropriate middle school endorsement.
• Share a commitment to the success of CCS’s mission.
• Integrate Christian principles throughout lesson plans.
• Engage students in learning through best practices.
• Create well-designed lesson plans with multiple ways to assess student learning effectively.
• Assist the administration in organizing and revising the curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable learning environment.
• Use technology to enhance classroom instruction.
• Perform various non-instruction duties as needed, such as helping with recess and end-of-school dismissal.
• Attend staff meetings, parent functions, and outreach events as requested by the school administration.
• Maintain positive relationships with other faculty and staff members.
Qualifications
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate for 6-8 grades or have a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate for K-5 and the appropriate middle school endorsement needed
• Bachelor’s degree in education
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
• Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
Schedule: The position is full-time, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This position begins approximately the last week of August and runs through mid-June.

Salary Range: $32,000 – 37,000 a year based on experience and qualifications.
