We are a leading neuroscience research facility specializing in the development and manufacturing of advanced silicon microelectrodes used in cutting-edge neurological studies. We are seeking a skilled Microelectronics Technician to join our team. This role focuses on the precise assembly and bonding of microelectronic components onto silicon substrates to create high-quality microelectrodes for research purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize wedge and ball bonding techniques to assemble and secure silicon microelectrodes.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to accurately assemble components.
- Conduct quality control inspections of bonded components to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Operate and maintain micro-bonding equipment, including troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to understand requirements and contribute to product development.
- Maintain accurate records of production processes, issues encountered, and resolutions applied.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to handling and processing materials used in microelectrode manufacturing.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Electronics, Microelectronics, or a related field. Equivalent technical certification or experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience in microelectronics assembly, particularly with wedge and ball bonding.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with high precision.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and standards.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience specifically in silicon microelectrode production or similar products used in neuroscience research.
- Familiarity with the specific challenges and standards of medical-grade microelectronic devices.
- Experience working in a research and development (R&D) environment.
