Medical Assistant (Full-Time Contract Position)

This is a full-time, contract-to-hire position. 

Seeking a Medical Assistant who can work 7:45am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday for an Orthopedics practice. Candidate must have reliable transportation as this position is primarily based in Greenwich, CT but requires coverage at other locations (Harrison, NY and/or Stamford, CT) on an as-needed basis.There is tremendous opportunity for growth and we are looking for someone who is motivated, reliable, open to feedback and a team player. 

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

  • Punctual and dependable with a 100% no-show avoidance record (prior employer references will be checked).
  • Pleasant personality and able to work as part of a team.
  • General knowledge of office procedures and computer systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle high-stress, busy work environment.
  • Knowledge of Word & Outlook required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting patients and preparing them for procedures.
  • Assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
  • Obtaining DMEs for doctors or nurses.
  • Fulfilling environmental responsibilities as assigned (may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols).
  • Cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program.
  • Taking and recording patients’ vital signs before and after procedures.
  • Assisting doctors with various procedures and providing materials and guidance as needed.
  • Ordering, sorting, storing supplies and restocking exam/procedure rooms.
  • Assisting members of clinical support staff and physicians with all duties as necessary and appropriate (including patient care, post-op phone follow-up calls and other patient phone calls, and medication updates).
  • Documenting all phone calls and actions and records appropriately in EMR.
  • Identifying OSHA issues and communicating for correction.
  • Following all HIPAA regulations as instructed.
  • Following company policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties/projects as assigned.

Hourly rate is commensurate with experience ($22-$30/hr)
