Title: Production/Industrial Designer

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Overview:
As a Production/Industrial Designer at our event production and custom fabrication company, you'll play a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and bringing to life various elements for events, exhibitions, and experiences. You'll combine your creative flair with technical expertise to translate concepts into tangible, visually stunning, and functional designs. Your work will contribute to creating immersive environments and memorable experiences for our clients and their audiences.
Responsibilities:
1. Conceptualize and develop design proposals, sketches, and renderings for event spaces, stages, installations, props, and custom fabrication projects.
2. Collaborate closely with the creative team, project managers, and clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
3. Conduct research on emerging trends, materials, and technologies relevant to event production and industrial design.
4. Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and production documents for fabrication and construction.
5. Select appropriate materials, finishes, and manufacturing processes based on design requirements, budget, and timeline.
6. Oversee prototype development and production processes, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to design intent.
7. Provide creative solutions to address technical challenges and optimize design feasibility.
8. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and fabricators to source materials and execute fabrication and installation.
9. Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), SketchUp, Rhino, or similar for 2D/3D modeling, rendering, and drafting.
10. Conduct on-site visits to supervise setup, troubleshoot issues, and ensure design integrity during production and event execution.
11. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visual assets, presentations, and promotional materials showcasing our design capabilities and portfolio.
12. Manage client requests regarding production requests and design changes
13. Create graphic renderings and production files
14. Process design requests in the following categories: environmental graphic design, car wraps, wall wraps, event signage, venue-takeover graphics, marketing materials
15. Setup & organize projects in Google Sheets
16. Create proofs for Production Team and for Client Approvals
17. Collaborate with General Manager & Production Teams
Job Qualifications:
- 2+ years graphic design professional experience
- 2+ year of graphic design experience at a Large Format Print Shop
- Mastery in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
- Mastery in Google & Excel Spreadsheets
- Excellent email communication skills for client interactions
- Excellent file management skills
- General knowledge of digital printing processes and standards
- Ability to operate effectively within a fast paced environment
- SketchUp experience is highly regarded
- College Degree is highly regarded
