About Journey Home Houston:

Journey Home Houston is a Christian non-profit transitional living program for young ladies who have aged out of foster care. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive environment where these young women can thrive and prepare for independent living.

Job Description:

The House Manager plays a crucial role in providing in-house support and guidance to the young ladies at Journey Home Houston. They are responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of the residents, as well as providing transportation to work, school, and church.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and guidance to residents
  • Ensure the safety and security of the house and its residents
  • Transport residents to work, school, and church as needed
  • Maintain a positive and respectful environment within the house
  • Assist residents with daily living tasks as needed
  • Keep accurate records of resident activities and progress
  • Communicate effectively with program staff and external partners
  • Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience working with young adults or in a residential setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to live on campus
