Job Title: Head Start Teacher

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Start Teacher to join our team. The Head Start Teacher will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children in our Head Start program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education.

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters children's self-esteem and encourages their natural curiosity and love of learning
• Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress and use this information to plan and adjust instruction as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents and families to keep them informed of their child's progress and to involve them in their child's learning
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure that the Head Start program is meeting the needs of all children and families
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's attendance, progress, and other important information
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in a classroom setting

- Knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Requirements

 

• Minimum Required: Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and enrolled and attending a program to obtain a baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Desired/Preferred Education: BA/BS; or MA/MS in Early Childhood Education or related field with 21+ semester hours in ECE/Child Development
• State mandated 45-hour coursework completion or ability to complete within established timeframes;
• One (1) year experience working in an early childhood setting with a diverse population of preschool children, ages 3-5.
