Guest Service Agent/Front Desk Clerk (Full-Time and/or Part-Time - 2nd Shift Position) Holiday Sands North “On the Boardwalk”

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Guest Service Agent/Front Desk Clerk to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role by performing various tasks. You should be comfortable undertaking a variety of activities in the office, including filing, answering the phone, organizing documents, basic bookkeeping, and more. Reliability and a strong work ethic combined with great communication skills are a must, as well as familiarity with all necessary office equipment, software, and procedures.

The position is a full-time, year-round position and weekends and holidays are required.

What will I be doing?

As a Guest Services Agent/Front Desk Clerk, you would be responsible for greeting and registering guests and checking guests out of the hotel and booking future reservations. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Greet guests and complete the registration process to include, but not limited to, inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirmation of guest information and room rate, selection of rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing a welcome packet and ensuring guest knows location of room
Assist guests with check-out including, but not limited to, ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, accepting and recording various forms of payment, making change and processing gift certificates and cards
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of hotel information including, but not limited to, room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area and other general product knowledge and answer guest questions and inquiries
Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities and to maximize room occupancy
Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
Field guest complaints, conduct research and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction
Receive, input, retrieve and relay messages to guests
Accesses reservation system to resolve unit availability and assists guests with reservations or changes as needed.
Handle 3rd party reservations, modifications and cancellations
Receives housekeeping and maintenance requests or work orders and contacts accurate departmental personnel
Provides information on area attractions and resort amenities
Type correspondence and reports for management as needed

High School Graduate or equivalent required
Proficient English language social skills to communicate both verbally and in writing with guests and co-workers, and fully comprehend job assignments
The ability to adjust to schedule changes and cover shifts on short notice in order to meet business demands
Ability to multi-task responsibilities and prioritize duties to meet deadlines and demands
Prior cash handling and data entry experience required
